As a new version of a Taylor classic, the Taylor Guitars 314ce Studio represents a fresh take on one of the name's fan favorite models. Taking cues from the Taylor 314ce, this Studio version carries the same workhorse sound and spirit for players to play and create with.
This Taylor Studio is constructed from combination of all-solid woods. A back and sides combo of sapele with a torrefied Sitka spruce top constitutes this acoustic for a rich, colorful voice. The Sitka spruce, heat-treated through a process called torrefaction, plays with a worn-in and aged sound that is usually reserved for older tonewoods. Altogether, this Sitka top projects with a well-loved sound right out of the case and is visually impressive with a gloss finish.
From this cutaway body, this Taylor Studio designs in a mahogany neck with a West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard. This responsibly-sourced wood is smooth across the fingers and presents a rich, dark shade to complement the natural grains and colors of the body and neck's woods. Four-millimeter Italian acrylic fretboard inlays punctuate the ebony for a dazzling set of fret markers while a faux tortoiseshell pickguard accompanies.
