In May of 2019 on a trip with Julia Etter, Kelly Griffin and Tony Krock in Oaxaca, we were driving to the type locality of Agave gypsicola in San Juan Teita. On the way all our eyes, as usual, were scanning the mountainsides when we noticed an agave growing in the distance. Also, as usual, we were torn between stopping to take a look and continuing to the plants at the destination. Time is always a factor on these trips, so much of it windshield time, the hours spent getting from habitat to habitat eating up the day. The horizon was too tempting this time to not stop and take a look. We obtained permission from a farmer to cross his fields and climb the mountain to see the plants. Once we got to the plants all four of us were unable to key out them out, other than being a member of the Section Heteracanthae, along with Agave horrida, titanota, xylonocantha, ghiesbreghtii, etc. The agaves were medium sized, approximately 3'x3' or more, that resembled a mix of Agave horrida and green titanota/oteroi. The agaves continued for quite a ways up the mountainside, but we had to pull ourselves away in order to get to the original destination. Tony named the plants, 'Green Bull', for their color and the intimidating bull we had to get past in order to get to the plants. C'mon Tony, that's every habitat in Mexico.

On a a trip in January of 2023, Tony Krock &  I guided Greg Starr & Gonzalo Juarez to these plants. In 2024 the two published a description of this agave as Agave yucuanensis, as they are found near the municipality of San Bartolomé Yucuañe in Northern Oaxaca. The flower stalk is paniculate, and their flower is described as greenish white flushed with reddish to purple tips. Hardiness remains to be seen, I have mature plants in the ground at my nursery that have handled temperatures in the low 30°s without issue.

David's premium bamboo soft bristle toothbrush
I'm trying to live a healthier life, and one thing I'm doing is to reduce my consumption of plastics. In the past, I've brushed my teeth with either regular hand held and electric plastic toothbrushes. In an article concerning reducing plastic consumption, David's premium bamboo soft bristle toothbrush was recommended. David's toothpaste is great, don't believe me, read the label and compare the ingredients to other brands, and David's toothpaste does not come in a plastic tube. David's premium bamboo soft bristle toothbrush feels different from other toothbrushes. The bamboo toothbrush handle feels light and smooth, and the toothbrush bristles are not stiff and harsh, but soft and soothing, perfect for brushing my teeth and messaging my gums. I've been using the toothbrush for a few months now and I have to admit it is the best toothbrush ever!

Eco-Friendly, Comfortable, and High Quality
I was looking for a sustainable alternative to plastic toothbrushes, and David’s Premium Bamboo Toothbrush absolutely delivers. It's a perfect mix of eco-conscious design and great performance. ✅ Quality: The bamboo handle is smooth, lightweight, and easy to grip — no splintering or rough edges. The bristles are soft yet effective, making them gentle on gums but still great at cleaning. 🌱 Eco-Friendly: Love that it’s biodegradable and made from responsibly sourced bamboo. It feels good knowing I’m reducing plastic waste without sacrificing dental care quality. 💰 Value: For a premium eco-toothbrush, the price is very reasonable. You’re getting a product that looks and feels high-end while supporting sustainable practices. Highly recommend for anyone looking to make simple, environmentally friendly swaps in their daily routine without compromising on comfort or effectiveness.

An Excellent Toothbrush that's Good for Your Mouth and the Environment
Mindful of plastic's impact on the environment, I've tried many alternative toothbrushes. Davids Premium Soft Bristle Toothbrush is by far the best. The handle is engineered so that it's comfortable to use, and the bristles really are soft and well made. I have never once experienced even one bristle coming loose and ending up where it shouldn't be in my mouth. That happened with other brands. So now, I won't buy any others besides Davids.
