Onderdeel van deze cd is onder andere cello suite nr. 1 van Bach in een versie voor Tuba. De opdracht voor deze compositie was om een brugfunctie te vormen tussen het idioom van de cello suite en hedendaagse muziek. In het werk Tuba Vocalis zijn om die reden muzikale gebaren terug te vinden die ook voorkomen in de cello
Tuba Vocalis is geschreven in opdracht van Luc Geraats, ter gelegenheid van de productie van zijn eerste solo cd 'Tuba Vocalis'. Onderdeel van deze cd is onder andere cello suite nr. 1 van Bach in een versie voor Tuba. De opdracht voor deze compositie was om een brugfunctie te vormen tussen het idioom van de cello suite en hedendaagse muziek. In het werk Tuba Vocalis zijn om die reden muzikale gebaren terug te vinden die ook voorkomen in de cello suites van Bach. Bijvoorbeeld arpeggio-achtige figuren waarbij hoofdtonen een extra melodische laag toevoegen. Vocaliteit en lyriek speelt op die manier een belangrijke rol. Het vocale aspect komt ook terug in gebruikte technieken als multiphonics en specifieke ornamentiek. De compositie bestaat uit meerdere met elkaar verbonden delen, waarbij lyriek telkens op een eigen manier een rol vervult.Shipping Notes

Alternative Snack Option
