When PRO photographers and videographers demand gear protection that travels as hard as they do, the SKB iSeries 1309-6 Case delivers. This collaboration with Think Tank Photo blends SKB’s legendary durability with Think Tank’s expertly engineered interior systems, creating a protective, thoughtfully organized transport solution for cameras, lenses, drones, lights, and accessories. The result is a case that isn’t just rugged on the outside but intelligently configured on the inside to suit fast-paced shoots in demanding environments. Whether you’re shooting in rain-soaked urban streets, dusty desert environments, or humid jungles, this case keeps delicate equipment secure while giving you quick, reliable access when every second counts. For professionals who value reliability, scalability, and efficient workflows, the 1309-6 is a versatile partner that protects your investment without slowing you down.

  • Rugged protection meets precision interior: The iSeries shell uses a high-strength polymer with an airtight, water-tight seal and an automatic pressure relief valve. It’s built to resist impact, moisture, dust, and heavy handling, so sensitive gear stays safe from the moment you load it until you reach your destination.
  • Think Tank designed photo dividers & lid organizer: Inside, you’ll find Think Tank’s meticulous interior system, engineered to cradle cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards, and accessories. The lid organizer and modular dividers keep gear separated, protected from abrasion, and easy to locate at a glance—boosting on-location efficiency and reducing the time you spend digging through foam.
  • Modular, reconfigurable layout for any kit: The interior is purpose-built to adapt to a wide range of setups—from a compact mirrorless kit with a couple of lenses to a full-frame rig with multiple bodies and a travel drone. Reconfiguring the dividers is straightforward, enabling you to tailor the space to your current assignment without sacrificing protection or accessibility.
  • Ergonomic design for field photographers: Reinforced handles and secure latches provide reliable handling in busy environments, while the rugged exterior shields gear from drops and collisions during transit, loading, and unloading. The case is designed to be opened and closed smoothly even with gloves on, ensuring quick access when a last-minute shot appears.
  • Travel-ready reliability for demanding shoots: Built for heavy travel, this case delivers consistent performance across airports, road trips, and remote locations. The combination of iSeries durability and Think Tank’s interior organization supports efficient packing, safer gear transport, and faster setup on location, helping you stay focused on capturing great results rather than worrying about gear protection.

How to install SKB iSeries 1309-6 Case with Think Tank Designed Photo Dividers & Lid Organizer

Follow these steps to optimize protection and accessibility for your gear:

1) Unpack the case and inspect the exterior for any shipping damage. Ensure latches close cleanly and the gasket sits evenly along the perimeter for a proper seal.

2) Remove the pre-installed Think Tank dividers and lid organizer if needed. Carefully lift out any foam blocks or inserts that secure the interior layout during shipping. Keep the original foam inserts in case you need to revert to the factory configuration.

3) Plan your interior layout. Decide whether you’ll carry bodies, lenses, flashes, batteries, memory cards, or add small drones and accessories. Think Tank’s dividers are designed to be repositioned quickly, so map out zones that protect delicate glass from contact with metal, while allowing fast, one-handed access to frequently used items.

4) Reinstall or rearrange the dividers. Place the dividers in the foam slots to create snug, cushioned compartments. Ensure gear sits firmly and cannot shift during transport. Avoid overpacking; leave a little room to prevent stress on the foam and to allow easy removal of gear without scraping surfaces.

5) Place the lid organizer in its designated area. Use pockets and shallow compartments to hold small items like cables, filters, memory cards, and spare batteries. Organize by frequency of use so you can grab essential items without unpacking the whole interior.

6) Insert any additional protective padding around sensitive components. For lenses, ensure the widest diameter is cushioned to prevent contact with case walls. Consider using microfiber sleeves for especially scratch-prone surfaces.

7) Close the lid firmly and engage all latches. If you use security locks, attach a TSA-approved lock to the hasps for added protection during travel. Verify that the case remains fully sealed—listen for a consistent seal and check the gasket alignment.

8) Perform a quick shake test. Gently shake the closed case to confirm that dividers and gear stay in place. If movement occurs, reposition dividers or add extra padding in the affected zones.

9) For air travel or long-term storage, periodically inspect the gasket and lid alignment. Clean the gasket with a damp cloth to remove dust or debris that could compromise the seal over time.

10) After use, empty the case, inspect foam for wear, and replace inserts as needed. Regular maintenance ensures continued protection and preserves the interior’s ability to hold its shape, which is critical for future reconfigurations.

Great power and east to maintain straight cuts.
I have zoysia grass, and if your familiar with that you know its as thick as crab grass. I also had a sidewalk and driveway that hadn't been edged for a couple of years. This edger was up for the task. It easily cut away 3-5 inches of over-growth a few inches thick. I actually filled up 3 lawn bags which is a lot. I also like the way the edger is easy to maintain a straight line for a nice finish. I found that a back-and-forth motion was the best way to remove years of over-growth. Now that I have conquered the over-growth, I run the edger once every month and I am able to keep a clean professional looking edge along my driveway and sidewalks. Because this is electric, it has plenty of power. And because of the wheels it is easy to move and is not to heavy. It's a little loud so ear protection would be wise but not necessary. I have purchased some replacement blades and put them on and it only takes a few minutes and is easy to do. My neighbor was using his battery powered edger, he has zoysia grass also and asked to borrow my edger. He has since bought his own just like mine.

Great edger
This is a great lightweight and portable edger. It’s much easier to use than a gasoline powered model. The only limiting factor is the length of the electric cord. It does a great job and make sure your driveways and sidewalk look manicured.

Nice Edger as long as the blade doesn't come loose -- and it will come loose, repeatedly!
Probably could've/should've rated this 2 stars yet it works well when it works. I purchased this edger to edge my drive and sidewalks and not for trenching. The edger arrived very quickly after I ordered it (I am not a Prime member so this was a nice surprise). Assembly was easy and straight-forward. The first use went smoothly and the edger performed flawlessly and provided clean, smooth edging. About 20 minutes into the second use I noticed that the edger was cutting and quickly determined that the blade was spinning freely -- fortunately the hex nut was still attached to the threaded shaft. I reviewed the manual that came with the edger, grabbed the correct sized socket and torque wrench. I removed the hex nut, the first washer, the blade and then the second washer. To install I followed the directions ensuring that the flats of the washer aligned with the flat on the shaft and tightened the hex nut to the specified 140 in-lbs. The edger worked well for about 10 minutes and the blade once again became loose. This time I replaced the original blade (which did not need to be replaced from a wear perspective) with a new B&D blade and new washers. Once again I followed the instructions and this time the edger performed flawlessly until about 5 minutes remaining in my edging when once again the blade came loose. my experience has most certainly been frustrating to say the least. one should not need to carry a socket and torque wrench with them and repeatedly need to tighten the blade. So, when the edger performs as intended it does an excellent job at edging; however I have no confidence that this edger will be able to perform as intended throughout repeated uses and more importantly has shown that it cannot complete my edging without requiring tightening the blade (which requires disassembly down to the second keyed washer). Potential buyers should be prepared for this experience and make your decision accordingly. Note: I tried contacting black and decker via twitter (@blackdeckerhome) and never received a response; I could not find a separate customer service/support twitter account. Trying to contact customer service via the phone these days is an exercise in patience to say the least.
