Der Schlossberg bei Kientzheim ist der aelteste klassifizierte Grand Cru des Elsass und fuer viele der Inbegriff elsaessischen Rieslings. Purer Granit, steile Exposition, ein Mikroklima, das Konzentration foerdert und gleichzeitig Frische bewahrt. Albert Mann bewirtschaftet hier einige ihrer besten Parzellen biodynamisch.

Der 2021er Jahrgang brachte im Elsass nach einem kuehlen, feuchten Sommer eher moderate Alkoholwerte und betonte Saeure — ein klassisches Profil, das an die grossen Elsaesser der 1990er erinnert. Die Spontanvergaerung im grossen Holz war zuegig, der Ausbau auf der Feinhefe geduldig.

Helles Gold im Glas, mit praegnanten Noten von Grapefruit, Limette und nassem Granit. Am Gaumen ist das ein Riesling, der Spannung pur liefert — messerscharfe Saeure, eine fast salzige Mineralitaet und ein Abgang, der minutenlang nachklingt. Ideal zu Meeresfrüchten, Sushi oder einem frischen Ziegenkäse.

For some reason the other was stalled somewhere in Kentucky as of this morning and upon communication a replacement was ordered by Amazon. I'm very happy with this one , just wish the frustration hadn't arisen over the shipping for other and will update or rate after I receive that one.
